As humans, much of our personalities are constructed

from our life experiences and past interactions with others.

The intricate formula that defines who we are as social beings can be traced

back to moments in our lives where we felt prominent moments of emotional reflection.

No matter how jovial, traumatic, or banal the moment,

 I am interested in capturing glimpses of where body language meets mental introspection.

인간으로써, 우리의 인격의 대부분은 삶의 경험과 과거의 타자와의 상호작용으로 구성되어 있다.

사회적 존재로써 ‘우리는 누구인가?’에 대해 정의하는 복잡한 방식은

우리의 감정이 반영될 때 느끼는 우리 삶 속의 순간으로 거슬러 올라갈 수 있다.

아주 쾌활하고, 대단히 충격적인 또는 지극히 따분한 순간이라 할지라도,

나는 몸의 언어가 정신적 자기성찰을 접할 때 그 잠깐의 순간을 포착하는 것을 좋아한다.

I make sculpture, installations and drawings that attempt to freeze in time the moments

 in life where personal reflections collide with self-definition.

I construct visually soft figurative forms that

translate as easily recognizable human postures.

The forms encourage viewers to create a parallel relationship with my work  while the

 dynamic drawings on the surface create a nostalgic

and comfortable language, which establishes mood.

This language creates a deeper narrative

that connects the mental condition to the figure itself.

내가 제작하는 조각, 설치, 드로잉은 개인의 겉모습이 개인의 실체와

충돌하는 삶의 순간을 정지시켜 표현한 것이다.

나는 시각적으로 쉽게 알아차릴 수 있는 인간의 자세를

부드러우면서 비유적인 형태로 바꾸어 제작한다.

이러한 방식은 관람자들에게 나의 작품과 그들 사이의 병렬관계를 자아낼 수 있도록 해준다.

작품을 관람하는 동안 작품 표면 위의 역동적인 그림들은

감정을 불러일으킬 수 있는 향수를 자극하며 편안한 언어로 다가간다.

이러한 언어들은 인물 그 자체와의 정신 상태를 더 깊게 연결시켜주는 네러티브가 된다.
