My work deals with the overlap of humanity and the natural world.

I use my simple, emotive animal forms to examine human motives and emotions.

Storytelling and the idea of myth plays a very large role in my work,

but equally so the notion of biology.

나의 작품은 인류와 자연세계의 중첩에 대해 다루고 있다.

나는 인간의 동기와 감정을 살피는 형태로 간단하고 감정이 있는 동물을 사용한다. 

 스토리텔링과 신화에 대한 아이디어가 내 작품에 매우 큰 역할을 차지하고 있는 만큼

생물학의 개념 또한 중요한 위치를 차지한다.

Humans are intrinsically biological and the growth of cities follows

the same biological imperative as a blooming flower or growing tumor.

 I try to examine this notion without pronouncing a moral judgment on it.

Hence, my beasts may sometime carry entire civilizations on their back,

though the question of symbiote or parasite is left open.

 I also use biology in my work to examine some of the more base aspects of human

nature as my creations hunt, eat, and squabble over prizes.

인간은 본질적으로 생물학적이고 도시의 성장 또한 꽃이 피고

종양이 커져가는 것처럼 생물학적이고 필수적이라고 할 수 있다.

나는 이러한 것의 도덕적 판단을 표명하지 않은채 생각하려고 노력한다.

이런 이유로, 나의 짐승들은 비록 유충이나 기생충에 대한 문제가

발생하더라도 언젠가 그들의 뒤에 다가올 문명을 이끌어갈 수 있을 것이다.

또한 나는 내 작품에서 사냥, 식사, 다툼 등과 같이 인간이 자연에서 가지고 있었던

기본적인 본성의 측면을 더욱더 검토하기 위해 생물학을 사용 한다.

A recent grouping of my pieces has begun to examine my work’s own nature

as constructed form, opening to reveal hollow space inside.

This consideration of the physical inside of the sculptures has

led me to consider their metaphorical insides.

They have turned into an examination of the internal workings of myself and others,

and how that relates to the physical shell.

나는 최근 안에 텅 빈 공간을 드러내기 위해 열려있는 구성된 형태를 만들기 시작하면서

나의 작품에 있어서 본성을 검토하기 시작했다.

조각의 물리적 표현에 대한 이러한 나의 고려사항은

나를 작품의 은유적인 내용을 생각하도록 이끌었다.

그리하여 내 자신과 다른 사람들의 내적작용과 육체적 껍질과의 관계는

어떠한지에 대해 생각하게 되었다.
