Artside Gallery holds a two-person exhibition featuring artists LEE Hunchung and JANG Seungtaik from October 1 to 30, 2021. The exhibition presents LEE¡¯s ceramic pieces and JANG¡¯s color-field paintings with the keyword of ¡®accidentality.¡¯ The concept of accidentality is a common point between the two artists¡¯ work, who use different types of artistic __EXPRESSION__ from each other, and is a vital element for their pieces. LEE made ceramic pieces at the start of his art career and has since tried out many changes with them in a variety of arts (sculpture, installation, architecture, and design). He allows accidental things to happen in the entire process of kneading a piece of clay and firing it in a kiln. The viewer can look into his artistic world through his moon jars, and person, animal, and plant statues in the exhibition. On the other hand, deviating from traditional materials, JANG uses various other materials for his painting, such as plastic, wax, and resin, which leads him to expand the area of painting. In the exhibition, he displays ¡®a series of Layered Painting,¡¯ which is in the genre of field-color painting that he has devoted himself to from 2019. The viewer will see canvases of light converged by colors of his brush and serendipity in the exhibition.
